Privacy

This policy explains how FindSafetyStations handles information you submit through forms. Public directory content (states, stations, guides) is static and does not require an account.

Who we are

Storage & retention

  • Form submissions → SQLite (data/forms.db) only.
  • Directory pages never query the forms DB at build/serve time for content.
  • We retain submissions as long as needed to process requests, prevent abuse, and meet operational needs; then delete or anonymize where practical.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with infrastructure providers solely to host email delivery or operate the site, or when required by law. Station claim details may be reflected (as business information) in public static listings after review.

Cookies, analytics & advertising

Essential hosting/CDN cookies may apply. If we enable analytics or display ads (for example Google AdSense or Mediavine / Journey by Mediavine), partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure traffic, deliver ads, and limit ad frequency. Details: Cookie policy and Advertising disclosure.

  • We do not sell personal information for money in the ordinary sense of a data broker sale.
  • Under some US state laws (including California CCPA/CPRA), “share” or “sell” can include certain advertising/analytics disclosures — you may opt out via Contact or industry tools linked on the Cookie policy.
  • Google ad settings: adssettings.google.com.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience of drivers and vehicle owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted data, contact us to request deletion.

FAQ

What personal data do you collect?

Only what you submit on forms: typically name, email, message fields, optional phone for reminders, and station-claim business details. We also may store a hashed IP and timestamp for abuse prevention.

Where is form data stored?

In a local SQLite forms database (data/forms.db) used only for operational follow-up. It is never used to render public directory pages.

Do you sell personal information?

No. We do not sell personal information.

How are reminder emails used?

Only to send the inspection/registration reminders you opt into, or related operational messages (confirmations, unsubscribe). You can stop reminders by contacting us or using any unsubscribe path we provide.

Do station pages collect my location?

The finder may use a ZIP or city you enter. Device geolocation is only used if you explicitly allow it in the browser UI (when offered).

How do Maps photos relate to privacy?

Cached station photos are business listing imagery for directory use. We do not republish end-user review text dumps or reviewer PII.

How can I request deletion?

Email us via the Contact form with the email address used on the submission and we will process operational deletion from the forms database where feasible.
